Liz’s Story

Liz Polanco has been a student of animals her entire life. From as long as she can remember, she talked to them and they talked back. Not always in words at first, but images. Much to her parents’ dismay, she rescued birds, squirrels, cats, dogs and reptiles. For a time, she stopped hearing the animals, but eventually their voices returned, even stronger.

At the age of 14, her friend talked her into volunteering at The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center. Liz had never been close to a horse, but soon become one of the most prized volunteers and could be found there whenever she was not at school. She formed a strong connection with a horse named Marilyn and this horse made her feel comfortable with her gift of communication, as if they had been “talking forever.”

Liz’s many sensitivities made school a challenging place, and an undiagnosed problem with her vision led her teachers to underestimate her ability. When she graduated from high school, Liz joined her mentor Mica Graves at Good Reception Ranch, where she helped provide care for over 50 horses. Eventually, she became certified as a therapeutic riding instructor through PATH, Intl. and developed her own riding program emphasizing connection and relationship. For a decade she facilitated summer camps and riding lessons, guiding hundreds of students to better understand their connection to horses and other species.

Even though her camps and lesson slots were filled far in advance, Liz knew she wanted to keep healing animals and giving voice to their needs. So, she set out to learn more. She trained for three years at Psychic Horizons, learning how to read people and animals while setting healthy energetic boundaries for herself. In 2018 she began studying at The Rocky Mountain School of Acupressure and Massage. Liz formalized her interest in physical healing and rehabilitation by becoming certified as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist, ETMT, and an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, ESMT.

In 2020 Liz launched her own business emphasizing healing and growth for humans and animals alike.
