Can You Massage a Goat?

O.B. the Goat came from a rescue that had financial problems, and before that was surrendered by his owner, and before that, who knows?  Today he belongs to Nicole Brecht, founder of The Good Life Refuge, and is the oldest goat there.  Back in August 2018, O.B. was among the first group of animals that she took in.  He has endured many health issues, including mineral deficiencies, kidney problems, parasites and other infections, plus severe arthritis.

O.B. half waddles out of the pen with tight hips and shoulders.  He lifts his front right leg possibly to alleviate pain, much as we humans switch leg to leg when standing in place for too long.  I’ve worked on him a few times now and have really noticed a difference.  His mobility has improved so much.

When I treat O.B. the goat, he's back to his delightful mobile self, almost as though he never had a problem.  I didn't think that I could have such a big impact on him, but he's always so pleased to see me.  O.B. either runs straight my way or straight to the pen for us to get busy!
